Our people Simbo Kéita is a senior Agriculture/Governance advisor in Mali. With more than 11 years at SNV, Simbo is an active of our staff are local 83% member of several multi-actor platforms for local governance in Mali and the West Africa region. He has contributed to a wide range of SNV initiatives – including collaborating with the Ministry of Local Authorities in Mali to build capacity during the country’s decentralisation/democracy process. Simbo is currently acting as the Country Coordinator for the Home Grown School Feeding Programme – an initiative funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to connect local agriculture to school supply. Annie Chapados is SNV’s lead advisor in Agriculture in Guinea Bissau. Her current focus is primarily on leading the formulation and implementation of SNV’s agriculture programmes focusing on the cashew and rice value chains. An agricultural economist with expertise in rural development, food security, agricultural development and microfinance, prior to joining SNV Annie worked in Burundi where she managed a project on integrated food security. She has also worked in the Dominican Republic where she supported the organisational strengthening of six national NGOs involved in local economic development, and in Canada where she supported livestock producers in gaining access to a quality label. John Nyakawa Ondari is a senior Water, Sanitation & Hygiene advisor in Kenya, where he is 17% are international supporting water service providers and boards to improve service delivery. John has over 15 years’ experience in development – specifically in developing strategic options for sustainably financing infrastructure in Africa. He was the lead advisor responsible for the initial phase of the UN HABITATfunded Lake Victoria Region Water and Sanitation Programme, which supported pro-poor water and sanitation investments in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania between 2008 and 2011. Before joining SNV John worked with various government ministries in Kenya. Elvine Binamungu is a Renewable Energy advisor based in Rwanda. She joined SNV in 2009 and supports the promotion and marketing activities of Rwanda’s National Domestic Biogas Programme. She is fluent in English, French and Kiswahili.
