The POWER of brands Everything started in 1958 when Jean BOUSQUET, holder of a tailoring qualification, decided to go to Paris to design his first creations in a tiny studio. Having launched his first Menswear, Womenswear and Childrenswear collection, and having been awarded the Oscar for exports in 1969, he went on to diversify his activities by branching out into perfumery and other products, which he has manufactured under his brand name: eyewear, lingerie, stationery, swimwear, etc. In 1950, at only 20 yrs old, Nino Cerruti took over the family business. He modernises the family weaving workshops and invests in two further factories in Milan. In 1957 the CERRUTI 1881 label is officially launched with the opening of a Parisian boutique, place de la Madeleine. The fashion house quickly becomes an internationally shining star. The life of Nino Cerruti is inextricably linked with cinema. Friend and stylist to the stars, his name shines in the credits of mythical films such as Bonnie & Clyde, Pret-A-Porter, Borsalino, Wall Street, Basic Instinct or Mars Attacks. The house dresses the biggest names in cinema: Tom Hanks, Harrison Ford, Sharon Stone, Michael Douglas, Clint Eastwood… A synonym of style and timeless femininity since its creation, the House of Nina Ricci has acquired a prestigious reputation in the area of fashion and perfume. Although its celebrity is unquestionably tied to the world of luxury fragrance, the Nina Ricci story actually began with the opening in Paris of Nina Ricci couture in 1932. The House of Ricci rapidly became one of the French capital’s most elegant, thanks in particular to the dynamism of Robert Ricci, the creator’s son. In 1967 Fashion House Emanuel Ungaro was born. Emanuel Ungaro acquired international fame by his sense of colour and mix of unexpected patterns, by the purity of his shapes and the insolence of the details. Today the house Emanuel Ungaro has a new owner. It is now present on all international markets – Europe, United States, Japan. Then came the accessories, essential instruments to the brand development. This collection privileges shapes and refined details, developed into models intented for active and modern men, whilst attached to the tradition of Ungaro luxury. 1962 saw the creation of the House JEAN-LOUIS SCHERRER by Mr JeanLouis Scherrer, located at the 182, rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris. He was trained in the excellence of couture and the very Parisian elegance by his master Christian Dior. In 1971 a Ready-to-Wear line is launched, JEAN-LOUIS SCHERRER BOUTIQUE, headed by the Couture House. His prestigious address became a lavish kingdom “where everything evoked fluidity, softness, and virtuosity…and was inspired…” In 1921, birth of the mythic label by Charles Jourdan, with glamorous and feminine high-heel stilettos. The lines are flattering and express all the “know-how” of the brand and it’s vivace creativity. A zest of impertinence and glitter for a modern, chic and strong-personality lady. 80 years later, if “Shoe” is the main identity of the brand, creative and luxurious accessories have been extended. CHARLES JOURDAN moto is: “The product is the hero”. All of these top quality European brands are exclusive to Maxum.
