Meet the Driscoll’s family Driscoll’s has been working with berries for over 100 years. Since the foundation of our company, our family of berry experts has expanded and is still growing today. Together we inspire each other to perform at our best within the whole berry chain. Through efficient planning and coordination, Driscoll’s aims to keep the berry chain as convenient as possible. This is how we guarantee a fresh, tasteful and high quality product. We at Driscoll’s all share the same values of passion, humility and trustworthiness. These values guide us on our way to bringing delight to our berry consumers. It all starts with the breeding process, when crosses are made to provide our independent growers with our unique Driscoll’s plant varieties. These varieties are grown on our own test plots and tested by both experts and consumers. Once a variety has proven to be successful, we make sure our growers receive the right amount of plants at the right time of the year. Driscoll’s agronomists provide advice and support to our growers during the growing process, so our berries can be handpicked and then brought into the cooler. We ship our fruit as soon as possible after harvest, in order to meet our high quality standards. The quality assurance team is responsible for all aspects related to quality and checks every incoming pallet to see if the fruit is at its best. Then our commercial team sells our delightful berries in the market. As they work closely together with forecasting and planning, they know exactly how many berries are to be sold. Through advertisements, events and category management we show that Driscoll’s is a lovely brand full of joy. This is how we let our berries inspire retailers and consumers in all seasons. From seedling to store 1 Kasia Blake, Plant Breeder Assistant in the UK: “I like working with plants from the lab, to the glasshouse and field. To see the development of the plants is a great experience. Our team makes sure the test plots receive the right amount of products at the right time. It can be very challenging to continuously deliver quality, but it really motivates me in my work.” 1 2 Breeding, forecasting & planning Variety testing & plant supply 2 Raúl Fernández Sánchez, Test Plot Manager in Spain: “As a supervisor of the test plot, I am in control of planting, growing and testing new varieties. It is never the same. Every day we are dealing with different circumstances, such as weather conditions and the growth capacity of the plants. We are always looking for ways to get the best potential and deliver healthy plants to the growers.” 9 Pagina 9
