Joaquín Víquez Arias is the founder of SNV partner organisation VIOGAZ. Trained as an agronomist and with a specialisation in wastewater engineering, Joaquin leads the company, while keeping a firm hand in the design and execution of projects. VIOGAZ designs and implements biogas projects, with a focus on promoting methane energy production from organic waste, especially agricultural, agro-industrial and domestic waste – both producing energy and providing a solution for the treatment of waste byproducts. “Our vision for the future is to continue working with SNV in projects that benefit society and have positive environmental impacts. SNV is a partner that contributes human talent, expert knowledge and ongoing monitoring, which is key for the success of the projects.” Fernando Acosta Bedoya officially joined SNV in 2012 as a Renewable Energy advisor, but his work We work 2,000 with a team of over professionals around the wold with SNV in Peru dates back to 2008. Starting in 2010, Fernando formed part of the Soluciones Prácticas team working with SNV on the BioSinergia project, which generated models for rural electrification of communities in the Peruvian Amazon based on biogas technology. “Having worked as a partner with SNV and now as an SNV advisor, I consider SNV to be a good partner organisation given its strong experience and ability to look for complementarity and synergies with potential partners.
